Astronomy Camp
Carl Sagan famously said, “The Cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the Universe to know itself.” Spend a week learning about the skies, space, and the wonders of the universe. This astronomy camp will study topics including the different parts of the solar system(the planets, the sun, moons, eclipses, asteroids, meteorites, and comets), gravity, satellites, stars, and the summer constellations(Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Scorpio the Scorpion, Cynus the Swan, etc.). Weather permitting, we will offer a nighttime lab at S.I. to observe the night sky. Several experiments and demonstrations offer deeper experiences for students to learn about astronomy and science.
