Band and Orchestra Camp
Play music in a fun and challenging ensemble!
Band and Orchestra Camp is the perfect opportunity for young musicians to hone their instrumental skills in a fun and challenging ensemble! This camp will take students from sight-reading to performance in a week-long intensive course. We will cover a variety of musical styles, practicing fundamental ensemble skills such as balance, blending, tuning, beat awareness, and following a conductor. Each session will include a warm-up, instrumental sectionals, ensemble rehearsal, and musical games. The camp will be taught by Mr. Galen Green, and will culminate in a concert on the final day, which families are encouraged to attend!
Students are required to have participated in a Band or Orchestra program for one year or to have taken an equivalent amount of private instruction and must be familiar with the basics of reading music. This camp is open to students who play the following instruments: flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, tuba, violin, viola, cello, bass, and percussion*. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email Mr. Green at ggreen@siprep.org.
