Intro to Chess
If you are brand new to chess or curious to go beyond moving the pieces, this camp is an introduction to the basics of chess. From learning how the pieces move, understanding elementary strategy and tactics, and figuring out basic checkmates, the camp will offer enrichment and joy. Each day will offer instruction, applied practice, puzzles, and appropriate play! Let your mind explore both the science and creativity of chess and enjoy it in a fun and collaborative setting.
Intermediate Chess
If you understand the elementary tactics of chess or are curious to go beyond the basics, this camp is an intermediate experience that builds on the fundamentals of chess. From learning about opening strategies and understanding middle game concepts, each day of the camp will offer some progressive ideas, applied practice, puzzles, and head-to-head play. Get ready to elevate your chess game! All are welcome
Camp Dates
- Week 3: June 29-July 2* - Intro to Chess (Morning)

Grades 2nd to 5th - Week 3: June 29-July 2* - Intermediate Chess (Afternoon)
*No camp on July 3rd
Grades 6th to 8th

Morning Half Day: 9am-12pm
Afternoon Half Day: 1pm-4pm
